Kevin Bacon recently experienced life as a non-famous person, donning an elaborate disguise to see what life would be like if he were unrecognizable to the public. In an interview with Vanity Fairthe Beverly Hills agent: Axel F. The actor said he quickly came to the conclusion: “This sucks.”
Bacon, who is also currently starring in Ti West’s horror film MaXXXineexplained to VF“I’m not complaining, but I have a face that is quite recognizable. Putting on my hat and glasses will only work to a certain extent.”
So, Bacon said, “I went to a special effects makeup artist, had a consultation and asked him to make a prosthetic disguise for me.”
Per VFhe was outfitted with fake teeth, a slightly different nose and glasses. When he tested the look at The Grove outdoor mall in Los Angeles, “nobody recognized me,” Bacon said. But the tide apparently turned quickly. “People were kind of pushing past me, not nice. Nobody said, ‘I love you.’ I had to stand in line to, I don’t know, buy a fucking coffee or something. I thought, This sucks. I want to be famous again,” he said. VF.
The actor, who has been steadily working since the late 1970s and became a megastar with the 1984 films, Releasedalso told VF“I’m honestly very grateful for where I am right now. That I can have two completely different movies within a few days of each other, and completely different roles. The fact that they both came my way is what I’m most grateful for. I really fought long and hard for it.”
